Mr and Mrs Bund has grown up, not that it was ever immature, but as Julien Moreno explains, the newly renovated restaurant represents the real life couple moving out of their first home and into their Parisian loft. Light, airy and with some of the best views in the city, it’s a tall order to make sure the brunch lives up to the setting but my god do they deliver.

Mr and Mrs Bund is a Shanghai staple and the Paul Pairet restaurant is regularly featured as one of the 50 best in Asia and it’s easy to see why. This newly unveiled brunch menu is sure to set a new standard when it comes to brunch in the city. Flavors were amazing and the Julien offered up some sound advice on what should be eaten first to ensure that our pallets were always ready to experience what was coming next.

What to Order – Mr and Mrs Bund Brunch // 点什么

In all honesty, I don’t think there would be anything on the menu that would disappoint but when we went we tried the following (and would highly recommend all):

Food//食物:10/10
I’m going to say this a lot in the next few paragraphs, but the food was faultless. Perfectly presented, amazing flavors and just the right amount. I could and want to eat this food all day, every day. The french toast in particular was spectacular, but I’m biased because I’m a such a sweet tooth.

I love the new interior of the restaurant. It’s chic and sophisticated and I understand what Julien means with his expression of growing up. Plus the outdoor areas and the spectacular views add to the ambiance of the place.

To avoid repetition, I’m switching faultless to flawless. Polite and friendly, they even brought little chairs to the table for us to put our bags on. The staff had a great knowledge of the dishes and were attentive to glasses being refilled and giving fresh dishes and cutlery after each course.

I can only say that I was impressed by everything. I think that Mr Mrs Bund brunch has just raised the brunch bar pretty high and I’m excited to see if anyone can get higher, because it’s going to be quite hard to beat.

    Agree. Simply the best brunch besides Jean Georges. Used to drop in 3 times a week visiting shanghai but can’t do it now since there’s no more weekday lunches available. Dinner is awesome but at a much higher scale. Always consistent for top quality food. Thank you again for looking after your customers so well …. That’s service. See you again in February. Can’t wait to have the black cod in bag, fig legs n lemon signature dessert.
